Wilkerson picks the Bud lane. It's a nice side-by-side pass but Head wins on a holeshot, the beneficiary of a .096 reaction time vs. Wilkerson's .122.
Budweiser (Right) Lane: #4 John Force runs 4.230/224.88 Summit (Left) Lane: #3 Tony Pedregon runs 4.170/289.32 ***WINNER*** The old teammates face off. Pedregon is the 2006 and 2007 Night Under Fire Champion and won the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals in June. They're neck and neck until Force passes 660, then drops a cylinder.
Budweiser (Right) Lane: #1 Ashley Force runs 5.018/69.18 Summit (Left) Lane: #2 Dan Wilkerson runs 4.173/297.22 ***WINNER*** The kids face each other. They do their burnouts and fireworks shoot up from both sides of the track. With smoke from the fireworks and the burnouts both cars disappear for a few minutes. They back up and stage. Force beat Wilkerson off the line, but Wilkerson caught up by 330 feet. Ashley's car gets loose and veers close to the wall. A great job of driving keeps her going down the track but Wilkerson has a blistering pass with the lowest ET and highest mph of the race.
