DINWIDDIE, Va. -- Pro Outlaw Doorslammers (POD) is taking the well known outlaw drag racing slogan, Run What You Brung and hope you brought enough and making it all their own-POD style. This slogan is at the heart of what the POD is all about. POD is going wide open throttle and taking their outlaw mentality as they BRING IT back to Virginia Motorsports Park (VMP) this Saturday, August 8th for the POD Quick 16. With VMP being neutral territory, POD will have great representation from both the North and the South contingent. This will create a great cross section of cars that will produce a competitive race for the fans. With the excitement of this event, there will be several POD regulars attending. Those being:
Maurice Bea with his silver Buck hemi powered Ford Mustang Just to name a few. As the POD championship chase comes to a close, with only a few races remaining on the 2009 racing schedule, the championship points battle is getting tight. Every point is counting and the pressure is on. Current points leader Ricky Walton with his consistence Color Me Gone Cavalier, is holding off both Bobby Leonard with his L&H Racecars '57 Chevy and Maurice Bea with his Buck Powered Cheeks Performance sponsored Ford Mustang-both drivers tied for 2nd place. With many other drivers making aggressive moves up the points ladder to be crowned the 2009 POD Champion. The POD Quick 16 at VMP is sure to be another great event! Gates open Saturday, August 8th at 9:00am with the first round of qualifying at 12:00 and the second round at 1:30. Eliminations start at 3:00.
