MOHNTON, Pa. -- Kyle Gockley lives right up the road from Maple Grove Raceway, so he doesn't have to haul his Suzuki motorcycle too far when he competes on the Sunoco Race Fuels Money Trail. He also traveled the short distance for a family reunion. Gockley (Mohnton, Pa.) beat his father Bruce Gockley (Denver, Pa.) in the final on both days. Sunday, he rode his 2003 Suzuki to victory with a pass of 9.308 seconds at 134.40 mph with a .010 reaction time that was more than enough to beat Bruce Gockley, who was .041 off the line and completed the run in 9.321 at 150.05.. Saturday, Kyle Gockley won when Bruce Gockley (Denver, Pa.) fouled at the start. On an '03 Suzuki, Kyle Gockley completed the run in 9.193 at 144..57. The rest of Sunday's Money Trail 4 featured a hurried schedule to avoid rain showers that were in the area. It almost made it to the end, but the Super Eliminator final, the day's last race, between Dennis Helman (Norristown, Pa.) and Jeff Wolf (East Earl, Pa.) was rained out. The day's final race turned out to be the Pro Eliminator final. Butch Weinreich (Jarrettsville, Md.) beat Maple Grove regular Mike O'Mara (Douglassville, Pa.) in his '69 Dart. Weinreich had a great reaction time off the start and made it stick with a pass of 11.292 at 117.04. Bill Cummings (Glenmoore, Pa.) got a win in an all-Ford final in Street Eliminator. His '90 Mustang made a pass of 11.560 at 115.80 that was an assured winner when runner-up Dave Raser (Oxford, Pa.) fouled at the start. Mac Dougherty (Havertown, Pa.) took Junior Dragsters with a pass of 7.958 at 83.53 over the eighth-mile, overcoming a big starting-line advantage by runner-up Matt Patterson (Coatesville, Pa.). Carmen Koser (East Earl, Pa.) took Trophy class when her finals opponent Slim Melosky (Norristown, Pa.) didn't answer the call. Saturday's highlight was a wife-husband, 1-2 finish in Street Eliminator. Elise Renninger (Leesport, Pa.) defeated her husband, Denny, when he jumped the starting line in the final. Elise completed the pass in her '63 Corvette, going 12.041 at 111.32. Lanny Werley (Leesport, Pa.) took Super, defeating Ashley Senft (Codorus, Pa.). Werley, last year's runner-up in points, went just .02 over his dial-in and used a superior reaction time to take out Senft, who was just .01 over. Werley's '92 Camaro went 8.720 at 150.92. David Sciarretta (Honey Brook, Pa.) took his first victory of the season in Pro, running his '70 GTO to a pass of 11.671 at 109.92. What made that impressive was that he defeated defending points champion Brock Moshier (Lititz,Pa.). Brittany Boltz (Lancaster, Pa.), a strong contender for a season championship, helped her own cause when she beat Jessie Rothenberger (Glenmoore, Pa.) in a double-breakout run. Boltz was just .01 under her dial-in of 7.94, while Rothenberger was .02. Layton Finkbiner (Exton, Pa.) won Trophy in his '69 Camaro, going 12.923 at 99.97 to beat Rick Wenrich (Harleysville, Pa.). Racing returns next weekend with Auto Locator Grudge Racing on Friday night and the Mega MOPAR Action Series on Saturday and Sunday.
