BTE World Footbrake Challenge Saturday

After a late Friday night (actually Saturday morning at 1:00 am) of racing that included the first
of three Nitroplate $10K race and a Gambler's Race, 400+ racers were back at it again at 8:30 on
Saturday morning for Day 2 of the BTE World Footbrake Challenge.
After the first round of eliminations was complete, the actual count was 436 cars who showed up.
After seven rounds of eliminations, there remained five cars to be paired up on the ladder. Darryl
Rediker and Tim Pace would face off, while Jay Norris and Joe Hutto matched up. The odd man Dave
Dissinger would receive the bye run advancing him to the semifinal round.
Rediker used a .027 reaction time and a one over the dial to defeat Pace and Hutto ran dead-on with
a "3" to best Norris. Dissinger took his bye run and shut off to save his equipment.
With three cars left, Hutto received the bye run and Dissinger lit the red light to advance Rediker
to the $10K-to-win final round.
Rediker had been down on himself all week, but it surely didn't bother him as he used a .022
reaction time and 6.985 on 6.98 dial to bring the money home to Nashville, TN.
With an adult-beverage bath awaiting the winner, Rediker said afterwards, "I wasn't able to find my
rhythm the last couple of days but I kept at it and I have to thank all my guys that helped me. And
I just would like to apologize ahead of time to the people who are parked around us, cause it's
gonna' get loud tonight."
Day Last of the BTE World Footbrake Challenge will get started early on Sunday morning with no time
runs going right into eliminations. Just one more day to crown another WFC $10K winner.
