SAN JOSE, Calif. -- For Jim Kennedy Motorsports the picture has changed, the team has announced their plan to field a Chevrolet S-10 Pro-Stock Truck in Y2K. “We think we have assembled a great team and plan for our racing program. We have had a long successful relationship with Bob Panella Motorsports and have come to an agreement with Bob about Panella power for our truck next year. We have contracted Gary Hansen to construct our new Chevrolet S-10 Pro-Stock truck. Danny’s paint shop will undertake the job of paint with Jeff Gracia doing the paintwork. Eric Reyes will work out the paint schemes, graphics and colors. We will use Ray Franks clutch components and Craig Liberty will supply the gear boxes.” Stated Jim Kennedy, team driver and owner.

“Our intention is to run the whole Y2K season with the teams current funding, but we are actively pursuing sponsorships for the year 2000 and beyond. With the addition of Panella power and Gary Hansen tuning the chassis, this should enhance the team we already have in place. We feel we can be a competitive team next year with this plan and look forward to the challenge. We have been successful in the last couple of seasons running competition eliminator and hope to build on that experience in Pro-truck. We should be testing by the end of December or early January.” Said Jim Kennedy.

Kennedy Motorsports intends to focus their marketing and sponsorship opportunities in California’s highly successful Silicon Valley area. Jim Kennedy has extensive interests in this area as he has made his business in the high technology and computer communication industry.
