COMMERCE, Ga. -- Special awards from the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals.

K&N Filters Horsepower Challenge award ($3,000 to the No. 1 qualifier in Pro Stock) - Jason Line, Summit Racing Equipment Pontiac GXP, 6.607 seconds, 209.04 mph.

Best Engineered Vehicle - Curt Fredrich, 1968 Camaro, Top Sportsman, Burlington, WI

NHRA Best Appearing Car - Jeff Pitman, 1968 Chevelle, Top Sportsman, Conover, NC

NHRA Best Appearing Crew - John Hall, 2010 Buell, Pro Stock Motorcycle, Hamden, CT

Strange Engineering Perfectly Strange Performance Awards ($250 bonus to the first racer in Super Stock, Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas, and Super Street who wins an elimination round by running dead-on their dial-in or index) -
Super Stock: No winner
Super Comp: Ronnie Siani, Harrisburg, N.C.
Stock: No winner
Super Gas: Jason Lynch, Pleasant View, TN
Super Street: No winner

Full Throttle Hard-Working Crew Award ($3,000 each to Top Fuel and Funny Car and $1,500 to Pro Stock for the crews that are recognized as the hardest working of the event):
Top Fuel: Steve Torrence and his new Torrence Racing / Capco Contractors Top Fuel dragster team for being the most consistent car all weekend and making to their fourth straight semi-final appearance and securing the win in his first final round appearance.
Funny Car: Robert Hight and his Auto Club Ford Mustang for continuing their strong start. The team was No.1 qualifier and made their fifth final in six races.
Pro Stock: KB Racing for getting all three cars in the semi-finals. They also placed two cars in the finals at their sponsor's race.
Pro Stock Motorcycle: Michael Ray who beat three champions on the way to his first career NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Pro Stock Motorcycle final round appearance.
